  • Why should I choose implants?

  • How long does the dental implant treatment process take?

    The whole process, from the consultation with the dental implants dentist to secure fixed replacements, can take several months. The implant surgery is a relatively quick procedure, but the implants themselves need around 3-6 months to heal and fuse before fixed permanent teeth can be placed. The treatment process will be longer if you need a bone graft or other procedure first, but your new smile will be more than worth it in the end.

    Statistics show dental implants last on average 10-15 years, making them the ideal treatment for teeth replacement. However, they can last much longer provided they are surgically placed correctly and accurately and looked after properly. Mr Amit Vaidya

Amit qualified from India in 1995. He came to UK in 1997 to pursue post graduate education and achieved an M. Med Sci in Oral Surgery from Queens University of Belfast. He has also gained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has worked in some major hospitals, including St Georges Hospital and The Royal London Hospital, gaining valuable experience in Oral Surgery for almost five years.

Amit moved general dentistry in 2005. He is now working solely at West Byfleet Dental and Implant Centre, which he opened along with his wife, in 2008, and has been striving hard to provide the highest level of dental care to the patients at Fairlands Dental and Implant Centre.

He has a keen interest in oral surgery and is currently pursuing postgraduate Diploma in Dental implantology from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, which is considered to be the gold standard in the field of implantology.

Ben passionately pursues further education in the fields of surgical and implant dentistry and has a broad surgical experience including autogenous bone grafting procedures and sinus augmentation.

Ben is one of the few dentists to have achieved the much-coveted Diploma in Implant Dentistry and Advanced Surgical Certificate at the Royal College of Surgeons. Ben has an exceptional enthusiasm for dentistry and works closely with referring dentists, who appreciate his open access surgery policy and relish their active involvement in each case from planning to completion. Ben joined the practice four years ago and works closely with Amit, Shilpa and the team to provide exceptionally high quality dentistry.

Balaji qualified from the University of Mumbai, India, in 1996. He moved to the UK and passed the statutory examinations. After having worked in Cornwall for 5 years, he moved to London to gain additional qualifications and skills in implant dentistry. He enrolled in the Diploma in Implant Dentistry course at the Royal College of Surgeons (England), which is considered as the gold standard in implant education in this country.

He was successful in the examinations and was awarded the Diploma in Implant Dentistry. He was also awarded an Advanced Certificate that reflects his skills in bone grafts and sinus augmentation. He has placed and restored hundreds of dental implants ranging from simple to complex cases. His passion to offer the best treatment to his patients takes him across the world attending courses keeping him abreast of all the latest developments in the field of implant dentistry. Balaji now offers All on 4, teeth in a day including immediate full arch loading.

He is happy to share his knowledge through lectures and also mentors colleagues who are developing their skills in implant dentistry. He is a member of the British Dental Association, the Faculty of General Dental Practice and the Association of Dental Implantology. Away from dentistry, Balaji loves spending time with his family, eating out and watching cricket, cheering the Men in Blue.
